MaMa Hicks

Nakisha~Mama~Hicks always had dreams of becoming a writer. It began at the age of eight. She entered in a Young Authors Contest and won first place. She knew right then it was her passion, not because of the winning but because she was able to express herself from the heart with words only God can give to express. She has written well over 400 poems and in the process in becoming an author of Inspirational poetry. She gives all praises to God. She remembers when family and friends didn't think a young girl could be touched on a prophetic but poetic way. She still believed. It is like her own personal communication with God, himself. I am His writer, poet, artist, messenger, vessel and His voice. Without Him, I am no one but with Him I became someone that is driven towards His Greatness. Where are you from?  Born and raised and  still living in Petersburg Va

When did you start with doing spoken word?  I started writing first at 8 years old  I considered myself a writer
 
How long have you been doing spoken word?  I’ve only been doing spoken word for 6 months 

What is your motivation?  God!!! It’s not about me but he is using me to get his message out there through spoken word and poetry
In five years what are you hoping for?  A publish author or youth couneler  I want to be an inspiration to all
